According to her account, an electrical current traveled through the charging cord, into the phone, and then transferred to the metal jewelry around her neck.
The result was immediate and severe.
She suffered second-degree burns that wrapped around her neck.
The pain was intense, and the injury left a permanent scar encircling her throat.
What made the incident especially frightening was how ordinary the situation had been.
No exposed wires. No visible damage. No warning signs.
