Who Renee Nicole Good Was
In the days since her death, one message keeps repeating from people who knew her:
Renee was bright, loving, moral — and deeply rooted in her community.

According to her mother, Donna Ganger, Renee lived with her partner just blocks from where she was killed.
She was also a devoted mother to multiple children — including older kids from a prior marriage and a youngest son who is now six years old.
Her loved ones insist she wasn’t an agitator. Not a protest organizer. Not someone looking for confrontation.
She was a U.S. citizen born in Colorado, with no criminal record and no history of trouble with the law beyond a traffic ticket.
She studied at Old Dominion University, focusing on creative writing, and won an undergraduate poetry prize in 2020.
Her social profiles — where visible — reflected ordinary life: parenting, home ideas, personal interests, and art.
