I’ve been thinking about what feels so extraordinarily chilling regarding the tragic killing of Renee Good.
Aside from the obvious fact that her death looks to every rational person like an avoidable and completely senseless act, there’s the other element about it that goes way beyond the norm, if there is a norm in murder.
Obviously, it’s the cold, shark-like, insensitive, Gestapo-like response from the government.
No remorse, no reflection, no empathy, no compassion, no humanity, no cooperation.
Just a defensive “speak to the hand”.
“She deserved it”.
Pretty hardcore from the party owned by the religious right.
Way to take the Christ out of Christianity.
