He read the napkin. Raised his eyebrows.
I braced for the worst: blame, panic, threats that I’d have to cover it.
Instead, he let out a small laugh.
“This is perfect,” he said.
“Perfect?” I repeated, convinced I’d misheard him.
He leaned closer, eyes sharp. “Opportunity. We’re going to handle this the right way — and we’re going to make sure they regret it.”
