Why These Travel Bans Were Introduced

“It is the president’s duty to take action to ensure that those seeking to enter our country will not harm the American people,” the administration previously said when announcing the measures.
Countries facing full bans include:
- Afghanistan
- Iran
- Haiti
- Syria
- Somalia
- Libya
- Individuals with documents issued by the Palestinian Authority
Other nations face partial restrictions, limiting certain visa categories rather than imposing a full ban.
