The woman, through broken English and frantic gestures, explained her situation. She had been separated from her husband during the war, and she had been forced to travel alone with her infant. She had no means of obtaining food, let alone formula or milk for her child. She had walked for miles in search of help, and her baby had cried relentlessly for hours, with no way of soothing the hunger.
