While there have been fewer problems along the fault lines on the US West Coast, a number of 4.0M earthquakes have shaken Alaska since the start of the year.
On January 2, Southern Mexico saw the largest in North America so far this year, with a 6.5M causing authorities to evacuate residents as far as Mexico City.
