She texted back almost instantly: “Those are kalonji – black cumin seeds. Someone must’ve placed them there intentionally.”
I blinked in disbelief. Seeds? Under my bed?
When I looked it up online, my jaw dropped. Apparently, kalonji has been applied for centuries as a charm to ward off sickness and evil energy – often hidden under mattresses, thresholds, or even sewn into pillows to attract peace and protection.
For a moment, I was freaked out. Who would do that without telling me?
