I Saw a Facebook Post: “I’m Looking for My Mom.” Then I Realized the Girl in the Photo Was My Exact Carbon Copy

When I arrived, her eyes were swollen from crying — but there was something else there too.

Resolution.

Peace.

She handed me a document from a social worker helping her search state records.

A woman matching my twin’s birth date and description had died four years earlier in a small town in Nebraska.

No relatives listed.

No children mentioned.

But attached to the file was a driver’s license photo.

And when I saw it…

I couldn’t breathe.

She looked like both of us.
