The Moment Everything Fell Apart
“They… are Black,” he whispered, suspicion flooding his voice.
The mother blinked, stunned. “They are ours. They are your children.”
He shook his head. “No. You betrayed me.”
And with that, he walked away.
No questions. No pause. No protection for the five lives he left behind.
That night, as she rocked her babies one by one, she made a promise:
