Connection to the Renee Good Case
The shooting comes just weeks after Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis on January 7.
Federal authorities initially labeled Good a “domestic terrorist,” but later-released footage appeared to contradict that claim, showing her attempting to drive away when she was shot multiple times.
That case sparked nationwide protests and renewed scrutiny of ICE operations in U.S. cities.
Governor Walz has called for state-led investigations into both incidents, arguing that federal agents should not obstruct local efforts to secure accountability.
As night fell once again over Minneapolis, authorities urged demonstrators to remain peaceful while investigations continue.
The city, still raw from recent history, now faces another moment of reckoning.
