The other represented everything I was about to lose.
For months, I had been sending résumés to companies that never replied. I had attended interviews that seemed promising, only to be told they had chosen someone else. Some employers never even bothered to send a rejection email.
Every morning began with optimism.
Every evening ended with disappointment.
I had done everything society told me to do. Study hard. Earn a degree. Build a future.
Yet somehow, despite all of that, I was broke.
My savings were gone.
