My husband called me around midnight and told me not to open the door…

One afternoon, as my child rode his bike in front of the condo, my husband held my hand and said: “We’re still here. That’s enough.”

I looked at my child, at the sun slowly setting over the familiar street, and for the first time in a long while… I smiled.

That’s when I understood something: There are nights when it feels like everything will be taken from you, but as long as we’re still together, morning is always a new beginning. And sometimes, surviving isn’t about living in fear forever… but about learning to cherish every small moment of peace we still have.
