Three days later, the phone rang.

Mark was frantic.

“Sarah… something’s wrong. My accounts are frozen. Rebecca lost her job. Someone’s destroying us!”

Emma poured herself a glass of water.

Mark screamed into the phone, “Someone’s in my computer!”

Emma took the phone from my hand.

“Hi, Dad.”

Then panic. “Emma? What’s happening?”

She spoke without raising her voice.

“You stole my college fund. You committed fraud. You tried to bury Mom. I just made sure the truth caught up with you.”

His breathing turned ragged.

“You’re twelve…”
