Chapter 2: Olivia’s Wrath
From the moment Isabela stepped foot into the mansion, she felt the weight of Olivia’s presence. Olivia’s demands were harsh, her tone condescending, and her expectations unbearable. Every day was a test of endurance, as Isabela struggled to meet her employer’s unreasonably high standards.
Olivia’s cruelty was not limited to just the physical tasks she expected of her. It was the way she treated Isabela, the constant belittling and harsh criticism, that weighed the heaviest. Olivia’s temper flared over the smallest mistakes. One day, when Isabela accidentally spilled a tea cup on Olivia’s dress, she was slapped hard across the face in front of the other staff.
“You’re clumsy!” Olivia hissed, her voice sharp and filled with contempt. “You’re lucky I don’t have you thrown out right now.”
Isabela, trembling with humiliation, apologized quietly and continued working, hoping the confrontation would pass. But this treatment was not unusual. Olivia was like a ticking time bomb, always ready to explode over the smallest provocation. The other staff members whispered behind closed doors, but none dared to defy Olivia. Everyone was afraid of her wrath.
