King is not alone in making this comparison. Music icon Bruce Springsteen recently addressed his audience in New Jersey, urging them to stand against what he described as Gestapo tactics used by heavily armed federal troops in American cities.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has also been vocal, previously describing actions of ICE under the Trump administration as akin to a modern-day Gestapo.
Following the incident, Alex Pretti’s family has released a heartfelt statement urging the public to uncover the truth behind their son’s death. They described him as a kindhearted individual who dedicated his life to caring for American veterans as a nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.
The Pretti family vehemently disputes claims that Alex was armed, emphasizing that video evidence shows his phone in his hand and his empty hand raised in the air as he attempted to protect a woman during the altercation.
