The Golden Rule: Warm Compress (Non-Negotiable)
If you only do one thing, do this.
Heat softens the trapped oil inside the clogged gland, allowing it to flow again.
How to Do It Properly
- Soak a clean washcloth in very warm (not hot) water.
- Wring it out so it’s damp, not dripping.
- Place it over your closed eye for 10–15 minutes.
- Re-warm the cloth as soon as it cools.
- Repeat 3–4 times per day.
The 2025 Upgrade
A washcloth cools quickly. Consistent heat matters more than intensity.
- A microwaveable flaxseed or gel eye mask
- A warm hard-boiled egg wrapped in a thin cloth
Longer warmth = better drainage.
This alone resolves most styes within days.
