Mayor Frey: “That Is Bulls**t”
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey didn’t hedge.
After reviewing the video himself, he publicly rejected federal claims of self-defense.
“Having seen the video myself,” Frey said, “I want to tell everybody directly: that is bulls**t.”
He accused the ICE agent of recklessly using power in a way that resulted in a woman’s death.
“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying,” Frey said. “Getting killed.”
He went further.
Standing before cameras, Frey demanded ICE leave the city entirely.
“They are not here to cause safety in this city,” he said. “What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust.”
The divide between local leadership and federal authority could not have been clearer.
