Mount Dukono is considered one of Indonesia’s most active volcanoes and has erupted more than 200 times since last year alone. Even during rescue operations on Friday afternoon, witnesses reported seeing ash, smoke, and volcanic rocks continuously erupting from the crater.
For now, authorities continue monitoring the volcano closely while grieving families wait for news about the recovery of the victims.
