Venezuela Declares National Emergency
The Venezuelan government swiftly condemned the attacks.
In an official statement, officials accused the U.S. of attempting to seize the country’s oil and mineral resources.
The statement said Venezuela:
“Rejects, repudiates, and denounces before the international community the extremely serious military aggression perpetrated by the current Government of the United States of America.”
President Nicolas Maduro declared a national emergency.
Cuba and Colombia also publicly denounced the strikes.
