This homemade, inexpensive, and natural trick improves gas efficiency and can help you reduce consumption without investing in expensive products or modifying your equipment. Why does gas seem to burn out fast? The problem is often not in the quantity of gas, but in the quality of combustion. Over time, the burners in the kitchen, water heater, or gas heater fill up with grease and debris. This prevents complete combustion, causing the flame to look yellow instead of blue, resulting in higher consumption.
Lemon is an excellent ally thanks to its natural acidity, which dissolves grease, rust, and accumulated residues. Cleaning the burners with lemon improves the quality of the flame, which allows better use of the gas and prolongs its duration.
Safety first: Make sure the burners are off and cool. Preparation of the lemon is simple. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze a little juice over the dirty areas. Leave it on for about ten minutes for the acidity to take effect.
