When rescuers first found Pear lying in the middle of a road in Missouri, it was hard to believe what they were looking at. Her fur had grown into such a thick, tangled mass that it looked more like a wig than a dog’s coat. Beneath all that matted hair was a frightened, neglected animal who desperately needed help.
Thankfully, Pear’s story didn’t end there.
The people who found her knew she couldn’t be left to suffer, so she was brought to Mac’s Mission, a nonprofit rescue organization in Missouri that helps dogs in need, including those with special medical and physical challenges.
